Mom and Dad hired a babysitter and went out on a date for the first time since I was born. Jessica came early and fed me, to make sure I'd take food from here. Then she watched as Daddy went through his whole bedtime routine. It's complicated- bedtime bottle, sponge bath, massage, talk to Tolstoy (my humidifier frog), swaddle with the Miracle Blanket (super duper complicated), Aquaphor on my cheeks, kisses, then turn on the bathroom fan and nature sounds. We go through the exact thing every night, but I don't mind. It makes me feel comfortable and relaxed for a long night of sleep, which I have been gettng a lot more often lately. I can hear Mommy breathing a sigh of relief right now!
Mom and Dad met Jessica through church and knew she was the right one for me, since she babysits the youth pastor's three very active kids. Too bad I didn't get to spend much time with her. She spent most of the time watching cable and stuff while Mom and Dad ate sushi and massaman curry before seeing the movie, Taken. I overheard Mom saying that it just makes her feel better now to go out only when I'm sleeping. She's going to have to let go some day soon. But for now, I'm glad she is taking it slowly. I wouldn't want her to go out too much without me!
